 HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016....... 000057e1_medium

THE YEAR MAY BE NEW

BUT THE OLD IS VERY

PRECIOUS

388305-easter-bonnetOnce again a £20 award is being offered for the oldestCavalier shown at each UK Club Championship Club show during 2016.Below is the list of the 11 Cavalier Club Champ shows 2016 and the people who have generously agreed to donate the prize. Their placing (if any) in the class is unimportant as it is primarily to show that Cavaliers can be fit and well in old age and do not warrant the bad press they sometimes get as being labelled unhealthy. So if you have a fit and well golden oldie maybe they would like a fun day out.

 FIT AS A FIDDLE

Cav_agilityAgility is in every sense of the word a team sport, a combination of speed, consistency, and trust. A sport filled with magical runs, but also frustrating disappointments. Perseverance builds character when training plans don’t succeed and the only choice is to try again. The dedication and commitment of Junior Handlers who compete with poise and confidence is a joy to watch. American Carly Kreiser is nine years old and competes with her Cavalier Sullie. Carly’s favourite thing about agility is running fast with her dog. She trains at home with Sullie’s favorite treat, cheese. Carly’s advice to Juniors interested in starting agility is to have fun with your dog. Carly and Sullie have been working together less than a year, but they have 21 Double Q’s (“double qualifying” earned by completing the agility course within the time provided without faults) and are 48 points away from their Master Agility Champion Title (MACH). In order to acquire the MACH title, a dog must achieve a minimum of 750 championship points and 20 double qualifying scores from the Master Agility Excellent “B” Standard class and the Master Excellent Jumpers With Weaves “B” class.

SHERLOCK BONES

2885933_jpeg_size-600_maxheight-600_square-true

If you want a little light-hearted mystery, Sherlock Bones stars the detective reincarnated as a Cavalier with ability to speak telepathically with his owner Takeru. The dog detective takes this as a sign that Takeru is the reincarnation of his assistant, Dr. Watson. Together, the two take up sleuthing murders on movie sets, students, and even take on the mayor.
