RUBY READ
Pair of Cavalier bookends, by Paul Gabriel Maureau-Vauthier (1871 - 1936) sold by Hamshere Gallery
It was very sad to hear the newsthat Alan Shailhad passed away on Tuesday 3rd May 2016, as we have been friends for almost 40 years and have very happy memories of good times spent at Alan and Elaine's home when they lived in Taplow. We showed alongside them in the ring when they campaigned their Rossbonny Cavaliers and shared the thrill of their success with Ch Amantra Naval Dream of Rossonny and Ch Triple Mint from Amantra at Rossbonny. Alan had not been in good health for some time but always managed to bear his illness with a smile. It was good to see them both at the Cavalier Club show in March and I know Alan enjoyed greeting so many his Cavalier friends. Our love to Elaine and their two sons, David and Kevin. I will always think of Alan with that mischievous twinkle in his eye. Never forgotten by those whose lives he touched. Alan’s funeral will be held on Monday 16th May at 4pm at Stafford Crematorium, Tixall Road, Stafford. ST18 0XZ. No flowers please. Afterwards at The Nest Pub, 4 St John Street, Cannock WS11 5HP.

Many will remember Heather Priestley, and her late husband Leonard, who owned the successful Pinewood Cavaliers. After many happy years at Melling near Carnforth in Lancashire the time has come for Heather to move. She writes "I have been really fortunate to find a flat in sheltered accommodation, just seven miles from my son and daughter in law.
I'll be able to retain my indipendence and, at the same time have two meals cooked for me each day." If you would like to drop Heather a card she is now at Flat 18. Abbeyfield House.
