DOG SHOWING IN JAPAN
The official ceremony of Pedigree Awards 2012 was held by the Japanese Kennel Club at Royal Park Hotel in Tokyo on 17th April 2013. This prize is given to the annual ranking number 1 dog/bitch in each breed.
If you get BOB at a Japanese championship show you are awarded points depending on the type of show. The highest points are given at International shows and exhibitors collect these from January
to December. As there are many professional handlers in Japan, amateur dog fanciers find it tough to compete against the professionalism. But in Cavaliers, Takashi Matsumoto triumphed with his two Blenheims...Japanese Champion Miletree William Takashi and Int Champion Hollambrie Olivia for Takashi.
well done Takashi and Hatsue (who lived and showed in the UK a couple of years ago)

TAKE THAT
GCH Grantilley Take That had a great day under judge Frank Kane at the American CKCSC National Specialty in Arizona. Not only did 'Robbie' win Best Veteran in Show but gained the first Award of Merit meant he was right behind the Best of Breed and Select Dog
in the placings. Not bad going for an old timer who reaches 8 years old
very soon.Owned by Lana Adair, showed by Elaine Mitchell and bred in
the UK by Rita Bidgood.
I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!
Alan Hall (Alansmere) is celebrating his 85th birthday this week. 40 years ago, in 1973, Alan and his partner John Evans saw their homebred Ch Alansmere Aquarius go BEST IN SHOW at Crufts. The only Cavalier to have received this accolade. We wish him a great Birthday....we know he likes to enjoy himself and am sure he will celebrate in style. Cheers, Alan.
