RULE BRITANNIA...
Elaine Waddington (Spindlepoint) judged Cavaliers at the Scottish Kennel ClubAugust Ch show in Edinburgh in August. During their mini break to Scotland, Ray and Elaine toured the Royal Yacht
'Britannia' which is now moored in Leith Docks in Edinburgh. 'Britannia' was home to her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family for over 40 years, sailing over 1,000,000 miles around the world.
Here is Ray pulling a couple of pints of 'best bitter' in the Petty Officers Bar aboard the yacht.
The SKC dog show is always held at the Royal Highland showgrounds not far from Edinburgh city centre.
Here are some photos from the day.

Helping out in the Toy Group
Apologies for some Charlie photos. My fellow traveller, Tanya Ireland, had a great day with Ch Maibee Theo winning BOB under Breed judge Sarah Maddison and Toy Group 2 under Tom Mather. Tanya helps Bill Moffat show and care for the Maibee Cavaliers and Charlies.

JUNIOR WARRANT WINNER
Craigowl Salzburg (Sally) has won her Junior Warrant title at the tender age of 11 months. She is sired by Craigowl Battenburg out of Bonitos Companeros Untouchable at Craigowl. Thank you to the judges who considered her worthy.
to the friends and families who have lost loved ones in recent weeks.....our thoughts are with you
Au Revoir, Bernard
French breeder, Bernard Dunglas (De Vaudival) (bottom left of picture)
has passed away. Last time I saw Bernard was at Crufts 2013 (he came every year) when several of us got together and shared a glass of Champagne. So sad to think he is no longer with us. RIP, Bernard
Goodbye, Joyce
Joyce Barton (mum of Lorraine Hughes) and founder of the Loranka Cavaliers died on Friday last week after being in poor health for some time. Joyce was extremely well liked and respected in Cavalier circles and when she stopped coming to shows we missed her. She will be proud of the success the Lorankas have achieved with Lorraine at the helm. Our thoughts are with her husband Albert (seen above with Joyce) and Lorraine and the rest of the family.
GENTLE JOHN
Another well known figure who has gone in the last few days is John Lymer, Sylvia's husband. He is seen here on right talking to Ernie Bull at the Northern Ireland CKCSC Ch show in 2010 when he accompanied Sylvia on the trip and enjoyed celebrating their birthdays and Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Never in the foreground at shows but he gave Sylvia lots of support with the Lymrey Cavaliers and I recall with fondness the soirees John and Sylvia hosted at their home in Coalville on numerous occasions when their hospitality to local and overseas Cavalier visitors was warm and welcoming. A giant of a man with gentle ways. Sylvia, on behalf of the Cavalier community know that you are in our prayers and wish you strength at this difficult and sad time.
PANDORA'S BIRTHDAY BOX
Meet "Pandora" owned by Tricia Nicola in Australia. Her registered name is Irishmoor Patties Pride FDCH RN CD ADM JDX ADO(2) JDO SD SPD GD and she just celebrated her 14th birthday. Tricia writes "Pandora" has always given 101% of everything we do together. She is a flyball champion, has her Masters Agility title and more recently obtained her Rally Novice and Obedience titles. However, more importantly, she is my best friend and I am so lucky that at the tender age of 14 years she is still heart clear although totally deaf. Here she is reclining in her new dog bed bought for her birthday. Happy birthday, pretty Pandora
15 AND STILL GOING STRONG
Michelle
Creek wishes a Happy 15th birthday to her first champion, Ch. Lakeisha
Phantom Chance born in the early hours on the 4th September, 1998. Michelle writes "Asha was
the result of my first forage into crossing parti-colour & whole-colours
which I have continued through the generations. She has been a very
easy dog to live with and was a great dog to have on the end of the lead in
the show ring gaining her title in between having puppies. Her son
was Ch. Lakeisha Xquisit Saphire, a b/t and her great grandchildren are the
recently titled Ch. Lakeisha Sneak Peak, a blenheim and Lakeisha Mister
Mysterious who is well on his way to his title, another blenheim. She is
still matriarch of the house and doesn't let age stop her defending her
food as one of the youngsters found out just the other day. She still bounces
for food, her bark reminding me that it's dinner time or that the kids have
left something tasty on the kitchen bench. Not as fast as she used to be, no
longer running full pelt down the backyard but she can still keep up a good
pace going around the backyard. A gentle tap on my leg will remind me that
she is always there at my feet." Many Happy Returns, old girl!
Sheila Vincent, a retired Porcelain/Artist trader, has 20 ‘limited edition' plates to sell, all numbered. CILLA SETS A NEW RECORD
At SKC show under Elaine Waddington Ch Harana Cilla Black JW won her 7th CC. A feat in itself but this was a very special win. This made Cilla Black the top winning Black and Tan in the Breed's history. A record that has stood since 1949.
Baby Cilla
The previous holder of the record was Ch Amanda Loo of Ttiweh (seen above with Ch Daywell Roger) who won 6 CCs between 1947 and 1949 at LKA, Richmond, Met & Essex, Manchester Toy, Croydon and Blackpool Championship shows. Whilst some of these societies are no longer in existance, others have stood the test of time. The judges who awarded her the CCs were L Wilson, F Mitchell, J Beynon, D Murray, G Worfolk, B Rothwell-Fielding. The only name I am familiar with is Daphne Murray (Crustadele) who was the sister of Katie Eldred who owned Belinda of Saxham the Bitch CC winner in 1946 at the very first CKCSC Champ show.
...so well done Lucy and Ch Harana Cilla Black JW on breaking the record that stood for 64 years!!
