THE OTHER "BOE" BOY
I am not talking about the world famous English tenor Alfie Boe, but the successful Black and Tan Cavalier dog, CH HARANA ALFIE BOE(born on 27th October 2010) who is just as celebrated, but in our canine circles. The lovely ruby, Ch Chamanic Lucasta won 9 CCs in her career, making her the top wholecolour in the history of the breed but at Scottish Kennel Club All Breeds show, a few weeks ago, 'Alfie' went one better, by bringing his CC total to 10 (plus 9 RCC) breaking the record and writing him into the History books. He was steered to this success by his owner/breeder Lucy Kosterand whilst in the past many wholecolours struggled to compete on an equal quality footing with the particolours, 'Alfie' had no problem. This is endorsed by the fact that in 2013 he was TOP CAVALIER in the UK Cavalier KCS Club Points table. The first time a wholecolour has ever won this accolade. His sister ‘Cilla Black’ ran a close 2nd. Since he graced the ring as a puppy he has won at the highest levels at Club shows and General Championships shows going Best in Show at the 2013 CKCSC and the Southern Cavalier Club Championship shows. Now in his 5th year he still continues to shine in the ring, now alongside his notable children.

THE CAVALIER CLUB OPEN
SHOW..part 1
Cherrill Deans (Clockpelters) judged the Club Open show held, as in previous years, at Top Barn Farm, near Worcester. Things looked bleak the night before with wind and rain but good luck was on the side of the Cavaliers and the day dawned bright, dry and the sun made a welcome appearance putting everyone, in ice cream mode! Here are some pics inside the ring...I will do a separate Chatterbox showing what was happening outside...
from Judge Cherrill....
"First and foremost, my heartfelt thanks must go to the Officers and Committee for giving me the great honour of judging the Club’s Open Show at what must be one of the most popular open shows of the cavalier year. I really enjoyed the day, and was grateful for the opportunity to go over some really top class exhibits. Hardly any exhibits today had gay tails, I but would just sound a note of caution on not going too far the other way with low tail sets. Eyes are generally really good now, practically no white of eye seen, and most were of good size and shape. Heavy rains just the day before had given way to a warm sunshine allowing the show its usual happy garden party atmosphere. There was an ample ring beside the marquee, set out in the in-out style, making it possible to judge the dogs on the table under cover. My thanks to the stewards looked after me admirably, and for the lunch which was excellent, and for my lovely gift of a picture from a favourite artist which will be much admire".
