TRIP THE DAISY
This quirkily-named cottage Trip-The-Daisy is a former ale house, mentioned in Pevsner (Architectural Guides...Buildings of England) and is understood to have been built in the late 17th century. It is the embodiment of the quintessential English cottage and has an interesting history having originally been a pub whose owner had a famous greyhound called Trip The Daisy. Situated in the hamlet of Idstone in a conservation area and an area of outstanding natural beauty, not far from Marlborough in Wiltshire. Sent to Chatterbox by Richard Cornaby as it has Cavalier connections....it was previously the home of Pam Escourt (Alemap Cavaliers) and her husband Major-General Edward Estcourt DSO OBE
SURVEY TO COMPLETE
As a part of a PhD, The Cavaliers for Life project and the University of Leuvenare investigating the importance of and the trade-offs breeders and owners make in the choice of a Cavalier King Charles spaniel as a pet or breeding animal. For this, may we ask you to fill in this choice experiment. It will only take about 7-10 minutes of your time.

I am so, so proud of our four little dogs, they worked their socks off and were not fazed by the heat, lights, noise, music and supercharged atmosphere of the big ring.
Many thanks to my team mates for their hard work & support during the year as we qualified the team, especially to Team captain, Claire for all her hard work organising the shirts and entries etc. well done Barbara and the Team....you did us proud and it sounds like fun
Elizabeth, Lady Webster, Later Lady Holland, in a White Dress with Her Spaniel by French artist Louis Gauffier (1762–1801)
Trivia .....Lady Holland became known for permanently introducing the dahlia to the UK. An unsuccessful attempt had been made in 1789 by the Marchioness of Bute who brought the plant from Spain, but failed to propagate it.Whilst in Madrid in 1804, Lady Holland was given either dahlia seeds or roots by botanist Antonio José Cavanilles. She sent them back to England, to Lord Holland's librarian Mr Buonaiuti at Holland House, who successfully raised the plants.In 1824, Lord Holland sent his wife a note containing the following verse:
"The dahlia you brought to our isle
Your praises for ever shall speak;
And in colour as bright as your cheek."
Mid gardens as sweet as your smile,
Nancy Reagan, wife of the 40th US president and former actor Ronald Reagan, has died aged 94. Their family pet a Cavalier called "Rex" (December 16, 1984 – August 31, 1998)was well photographed with the President and The First Lady. Bred by Irene Murphy of Connecticut he was registered as Martlet-Or Worcester. He reportedly took a dislike to the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House, thought possibly to be haunted by the ghost of Abraham Lincoln. The dog would refuse to enter the room and sometimes would stand outside it and bark through the doorway.
BON ANNIVERSAIRE
