HOW "ART" THOU?
'MISS CHIEF',SADLY MISS'D
Some Cavaliers, such as Caption, Alberto, Lucasta etc are memorable and their names are instantly recognisable even without their affix. 'Miss Chief' was such a Cavalier. AKC, CKCSC USA & UK Champion Timsar Miss Chief was born on 4th August 2000 by Linjato Ace of Base out of Timsar Lucasta and sadly passed away this week, in her 14th year.
Annette Jones, her breeder owner, writes......"Mollie" was I think my once in a life time dog. She was from a litter of three bitches – Miss Chief, Miss Fortune and Miss Damina I didn’t think she was in any way special when she was born and in fact when friends Char and Lamont Yoder would ask about the litter I would just say “Oh they are quite nice!” We have laughed many times about that since.
It must have been so hard and emotionally draining that on the day following 'Mollie's' loss, Annette also had to say good bye to her son, Timsar Master of Ceremonieswho underwent two operations to remove some towelling from his stomach and small intestine. Sadly, he did not make it. The picture taken above was in 2011 when at 7 years of age, he came out of retirement, and shown by Sylvia Lymer, he went Best of Breed and ultimately Best in Show at the Three Counties Peke and Cavalier Show under Gordon Inglis.Later that year, under Elaine Lessig at the Midland CKCS Championship show he also was awarded aReserve CC from the Veteran class.
What a wrench to lose two such precious companions in such a short spell. Our thoughts are with Annette at this time.
ONESIE, TWOSIE,THREESIE
At LKA, the last General Championship show 2013 in the UK, there were loads of people dressed in 'onesies' collecting money for charity. The Cavalier people doing this were Elaine Williams, Melissa Phillips and Helen and Lorraine Long. "We are pleased to tell you that we raised £109.41 at in aid of Cancer Research. This was collected around the CKCS ring from exhibitors, spectators and the judge Stephen Bardwell and stewards and adds to that collected online already on Justgiving.com. We would like to thank all those who contributed to this worthy cause" Elaine Williams, Melissa Phillips, Helen and Lorraine Long.

A CHRISTMAS 'CAROL' FOR TONY BOOTH
Actor Tony Booth, father of Cherie Blair and so father in law to former Prime Minister Tony Blair, is best known for his role in the BBC series Till Death Us Do Part. He and his wife Steph have recently adopted a Cavalier who they have festively named Carol.
Alexa’s Animals Dog Rescue, a Northumberland volunteer organisation, had been looking after 'Carol', thought to be aged around eight or nine, after she was found tied to a lamppost. When he heard the story about 'Carol', Tony, who was a bit damp around the eyes, said, ‘We’ll have her’. She is settling in well at her new home and joins the couple’s other two dogs, a Jack Russell and a Springer Spaniel.
Vickie Wyness (Oronsay Cavaliers) in Queensland, Australia has been very ill. We wish her a speedy recovery and our best wishes to Mum Di and their family.
