PRIMA BALLERINA who clearly loved our breed
Tamara Platonovna Karsavina (10 March 1885 – 26 May 1978) was a Russian prima ballerina renowned for her beauty, who was a Principal Artist of the Imperial Russian Ballet, often paired with Nijinsky. After settling in Britain at Hampstead in London she began teaching ballet professionally and became recognised as one of the founders of modern British ballet. She assisted in the establishment of The Royal Ballet and was a founder member of the Royal Royal Academy of Dance which is now the world's largest dance-teaching organisation.

Sheila Hall writes "I took my 2 dogs away for the weekend and stayed at Fron Bank Lodge just outside Welshpool. Its a bit difficult to find at first but once you get there its wonderful. The lodge is in the grounds of a large house and is fenced all round. Dogs are free (you can take up to 2 ) and they supplied dog blankets, treats, a bowl of water and even dog poo bags. A really dog friendly place...."

from Joanne Hall who lives in Sheffield... "I am so proud of my brother, 38 year old Martin and our dog "Dallas" whose kennel name is Clockpelters The Viceroy. In 2012 they went to a Companion Dog Show, and at the end of the show there was a class called Dog of the Year 2012and to everyone's delight they won! Martin was thrilled to bits with his best friend Dallas. He was so happy that he held the trophy on his knee all the way home with a very big smile on his face. Then in August 2014, I entered the photo above in a Pet Photo Competition where there were 20 classes. The Class was called - My Proudest Moment with my Dog, which I thought was just the right class to enter, as it was Martin's proudest moment with his best pal. They won the class which was fantastic, then went one better by winning....Best In Show and received a beautiful trophy and rosette. Words cannot say how happy we were for them both. Martin is so overjoyed at winning with his pal Dallas and what a team they make. They are so best of friends it will make Martin's day seeing his photo on Chatterbox" Many congratulations to Martin and Dallas...you do the Breed proud and hope to hear more about your successes.

Jane Naylor (du Nid du Faisan) has lived in the South West of France for 17 years although many of us will remember her and her late husband Tom when they lived in Kent and showed and bred in the UK under the Jasenil affix. Two of her wholecolours "Rascally" and litter sister"Raziella" celebrated their 14th birthday on 4th Septembers. Jane writes ..... Appearances belie. Rascally looks in better shape, Raziela looks older, but it is Raziela who jumps on the sofa and Rascally who needs a stool to climb on first – but she manages that very well. She can run but just no longer has the ability to jump. They had a treat for breakfast; duck fat, which they LOVE, and will have another tonight."
