HO HO HUMBERSIDE
The Humberside Cavalier Club held their Open show near Doncaster on 2nd February 2014 with Cherrill Deans (Clockpelters) judging the entry of 79 and Paula Higgins (Chesalatina) doing the special Jean and John Grant Memorial Stakes classes. Somehow the mix of this show is just right and so results in a very convivial event. The Committee are hardworking and sociable and do their best to ensure everyone has a good time, win or lose. Bacon rolls to welcome everyone and then a delicious free lunch of homemade meat and potato pie (or Quiche) followed by trifle was a great touch and it got better when afternooon tea with cake, carrot or chocolate, was provided. The Miners Welfare Hall in Bircotes is easy to get to from the A1 and parking is just outside the hall. Lighting and ring sizes are good with enough space for travelling boxes etc. The atmosphere was jolly and Sue Leach's birthday celebration meant we could get even jollier! All in all, I never heard one moan the whole day. Well done to the organisers who make this possible. A show well worth attending. Northern hospitality is alive and well! Here are some candid shots and also some of Cherrill's winners.
